Virtu Financial disclosed its Q1 results for March 31, 2024. The company showcased robust performance, with total revenues climbing by 3.6% to reach $642.8 million, compared to $620.4 million in the corresponding quarter of 2023.

Virtu Financial maintained strong profitability despite a slight dip in trading income, which decreased by 1.1% to $408.1 million from $412.5 million in Q1 2023. Net income for the quarter stood at $111.3 million, marking a slight uptick from $110.1 million in the previous year’s quarter.

Basic and diluted earnings per share (EPS) for the quarter amounted to $0.59, up from $0.56 in Q1 2023. Adjusted Net Trading Income decreased marginally by 1.7% to $366.9 million, down from $373.1 million in the same period last year. Adjusted EBITDA also declined marginally by 2.2% to $202.8 million, down from $207.5 million in Q1 2023.

Normalized Adjusted Net Income, excluding one-time and non-cash items, decreased by 2.6% to $124.3 million, down from $127.6 million in Q1 2023. When all non-controlling interests were converted into common stock, and the company’s Normalized Adjusted Net Income was subject to corporation taxes, Normalized Adjusted EPS came in at $0.76, up from $0.74 in the same period last year.
