Robinhood launches Ethereum (ETH) staking through its Robinhood Crypto unit, extending its services to European customers. The new feature allows users to earn rewards on their ETH holdings by participating in staking, a process where crypto owners lock their assets to support network security and operations in exchange for rewards.
To promote the service, Robinhood offers a 100% match on staking earnings, up to €10,000, for a limited time. ETH staking provides a passive income opportunity for crypto holders, similar to earning interest on traditional deposits. By staking their Ethereum, users help secure the Ethereum blockchain while agreeing not to sell their assets for a set period. Robinhood’s platform aims to simplify the process, making it easier for both newcomers and experienced crypto users to participate in Ethereum’s staking ecosystem.
This move marks the latest expansion of Robinhood’s crypto offerings in Europe. The platform launched in the region late last year, focusing on cryptocurrency trading. ETH staking follows Robinhood’s earlier rollout of Solana (SOL) staking in Europe earlier this year.
For the next few months, Robinhood customers will be able to earn a 100% match on staking rewards for both Ethereum and Solana. Johann Kerbrat, General Manager and Vice President of Robinhood Crypto, highlighted the company’s customer-first approach in developing the staking feature.
“Staking has been a highly requested feature, but it can also be intimidating for newcomers,” Kerbrat said. “We’ve simplified the process to ensure users can contribute to the security of the ETH network while earning rewards efficiently.” Crypto services are available to eligible customers through Robinhood Europe, UAB, a company registered in Lithuania authorized as a virtual currency exchange and wallet operator. This expansion further underscores Robinhood’s commitment to broadening its global crypto offerings.
