Interactive Brokers integrates X Cashtags, enabling investors to access live market data and trade stocks and crypto seamlessly.
Interactive Brokers Group has announced a new integration with X Cashtags, creating a direct connection between financial discussions on X and trading through its brokerage platform. The development allows investors in the United States to move from discovering market information on the social media platform to researching securities and potentially placing trades through Interactive Brokers. Under the new integration, users can search for stock and cryptocurrency tickers on X using Cashtags, including symbols such as $AAPL for Apple and $BTC for Bitcoin.
The relevant ticker pages display live price charts, market information, and real-time commentary from traders, analysts, and other public figures. In addition, users can select an embedded “Trade” option and choose Interactive Brokers to continue their research or access their brokerage account. For new investors, the integration also provides a simplified route to opening an Interactive Brokers account. Furthermore, the company announced a promotional incentive for eligible new US clients. Investors who open and fund a qualifying IBKR account through the Cashtags experience will receive $100 to begin investing.
Interactive Brokers said the partnership aims to connect the process of discovering financial information with the next steps investors may take. Tamara Makonnen, Chief Marketing Officer at Interactive Brokers, said X has become a place where investors follow breaking developments and exchange market ideas. She added that connecting those discussions with IBKR creates another route for users to access the company’s trading and investment services.
Meanwhile, existing Interactive Brokers clients can use Cashtags to move more quickly from stock-related conversations to their brokerage accounts. After selecting a ticker on X, users can proceed directly to Interactive Brokers, where they can conduct additional research or place trades. The integration also expands access to Interactive Brokers for people who have not previously used the platform. The brokerage has operated across global markets for more than four decades and currently serves over five million client accounts worldwide.
Moreover, its platform provides access to multiple asset classes, including stocks, options, futures, currencies, bonds, cryptocurrencies, and prediction markets across more than 170 global markets. X also highlighted the role of Cashtag partnerships in connecting financial conversations with potential market activity. According to Monique Pintarelli, Head of Global Advertising at SpaceXAI, the feature allows users to move more seamlessly from discovering financial information and participating in discussions toward accessing brokerage services.
