IG Securities plans to delist stocks as it streamlines its U.S.-listed trading instruments. This decision, which will take effect in stages, stems from what the company describes as “current difficulties in continuing to trade these stocks.”

The brokerage confirmed it will stop displaying these instruments beginning August 15, 2025, and will reject all new orders from that date. Soon after, on August 30, 2025, the company will automatically close any open positions in the affected stocks at the price recorded at the end of that trading day. Furthermore, the firm will erase all pending orders at that time.

IG Securities is primarily delisting business development companies and specialty finance firms. The list includes major names such as Blackstone Secured Lending Fund, Goldman Sachs BDC Inc., Main Street Capital Corp, and Ares Capital Corp. IG Securities is also removing Bain Capital Specialty Finance Inc., CION Investment Corp, FS KKR Capital Corporation, Morgan Stanley Direct Lending Fund, Apollo Investment Corp, and others.

As the firm clarified, “Clients with remaining positions past the deadline will have their trades settled based on the final trading price on August 30.” The transition, while significant for some investors, reflects a growing trend among brokerages to streamline their offerings amid evolving liquidity and compliance challenges.

Industry analysts suggest that the move could also be related to cost-efficiency concerns or the changing structure of U.S. capital markets. Still, IG Securities emphasized its ongoing commitment to transparency and customer protection, assuring traders that these adjustments maintain service quality and uphold operational integrity. While this change may limit some trading opportunities, the company believes that the broader platform will remain robust.\

In Conclusion, IG Securities’ decision to delist over 30 stocks reflects its strategic response to current trading challenges. The firm remains committed to maintaining platform efficiency and client protection.
