XTB & VanEck partnership boosts ETFs and savings, empowering Spanish investors with diversified, low-cost investment options.
The XTB & VanEck partnership has strategically joined forces to promote passive investing through exchange-traded funds (ETFs). This partnership is designed to make indexed investing more accessible through XTB’s ETF investment plans, thereby enabling retail traders to easily incorporate VanEck’s latest products into their portfolios.
This alliance is a testament to the shared commitment of both companies to the Spanish ETF market, which is currently experiencing significant growth. XTB’s data reveals that 70% of its clients worldwide initiate their investment journey with ETFs and stocks, positioning the broker to emerge as a leader in multi-product investment apps in Spain.
Javier Urones, Head of Business at XTB Spain, expressed excitement about the collaboration, highlighting VanEck’s global prominence and the potential to raise awareness about ETFs and investment plans as optimal savings alternatives for Spanish retail investors.
XTB introduced its ETF-Based Investment Plans in late 2023, initially launching them in Portugal and Slovakia before expanding into the Spanish market. These plans provide XTB’s investment app users with access to over 350 ETFs across a wide range of asset classes, including stocks, bonds, commodities, and clean energy funds.
Beyond facilitating investment, the collaboration aims to address Spain’s low savings rate, which currently stands below 6%, significantly trailing behind other European countries. XTB’s recent report, “The Future of Savings in Spain,” highlights the country’s substantial amount of unrewarded saved money, second only to Germany in the EU. Through educational initiatives and tailored savings solutions, XTB and VanEck seek to instill a stronger savings culture among Spaniards.
Eduardo Escario, Regional Director of Business Development at VanEck, emphasized the advantages of ETF investing for retail clients, citing its diversified and low-cost nature as fitting the needs of investors.
Notably, this collaboration follows XTB’s earlier partnership with BlackRock to promote ETF investments, indicating a concerted effort to expand passive investing options for clients. Lastly, XTB’s recent platform enhancements, including social trading features and entry into the UK’s ISA market, underscore its commitment to offering diverse and accessible investment opportunities.
