XTB Appoints Aleksander Chłopecki as the new Chairman of its Supervisory Board following the departure of long-serving Chairman Jan Byrski earlier this month. Chłopecki, a distinguished law professor, brings a wealth of expertise in capital markets and financial regulation to the position.

He currently heads the Capital Market Law Department at the University of Warsaw, specializing in civil, commercial, banking, and insurance law. In addition to his academic role, Chłopecki has a distinguished career in financial law and regulation. He is the President of the Arbitration Court at the Polish Financial Supervision Authority and has held several key positions in financial institutions.

Notably, he was Deputy Chairman for Legal Affairs at the Polish Securities and Exchange Commission and a member of the Management Board of the National Depository for Securities. His leadership experience extends to PZU, Poland’s largest insurance company, where he chaired the Supervisory Board. Chłopecki’s influence extends beyond his professional roles; he is a prolific author and co-author of numerous books and articles on securities law and commercial law.

He has also contributed to drafting legal regulations citing the capital market. His expertise is reflected in his role as Counsel at the global law firm Dent, formerly the Salans, where he has advised on complex legal matters since 2010. Between 2016 and 2024, Chłopecki served on the Supervisory Board of OANDA TMS Brokers SA, a Polish CFD broker acquired by OANDA in 2021.

His extensive academic and regulatory experience makes him a substantial addition to XTB’s leadership team. This appointment comes at a time of growth and strategic focus for XTB, with the company looking to strengthen its governance and regulatory oversight as it expands its international presence. Chłopecki’s expertise will be instrumental in guiding the company through the evolving financial landscape.
