StoneX acquires AMG to expand feed ingredients operations, strengthening its animal protein, pet food, and North American reach.
StoneX Group acquires Advanced Marketing Group, LLC (AMG), a pet food ingredients and organic fertilizer company. The acquisition strengthens StoneX’s position in the North American agricultural and feed ingredients markets while adding new products and industry relationships to its portfolio. StoneX plans to integrate AMG into StoneX Supply & Trading’s existing feed ingredients operations.
Through the transaction, the company will add animal-based protein ingredients to its platform while expanding its customer network and geographic presence across North America. Founded in 2010 and headquartered in Wilsonville, Oregon, AMG has built its business around trading animal protein-based feed ingredients and manufacturing organic fertilizers. The company serves a diverse customer base, including pet food manufacturers, dairy and poultry producers, feed mills, feedlots, and fertilizer brands.
Moreover, AMG employs approximately 20 trading and operations professionals across Oregon, Kansas, Texas, and Virginia, with additional operations in Canada. The company also uses a network of trans-load and storage facilities to support its distribution activities. The acquisition gives StoneX access to AMG’s established supplier relationships and approved-supplier status within specialized feed markets.
At the same time, AMG will gain access to StoneX’s capital resources, global reach, infrastructure, and risk-management capabilities, creating opportunities to expand its operations. Brent Grecian, CEO of StoneX Supply & Trading, highlighted the strategic value of the transaction, saying, “AMG brings an established, well-run feed-ingredients business with supplier relationships and ‘approved supplier’ status that are hard to replicate.” Additionally, Grecian said StoneX expects to increase its share of customers’ feed and ingredient requirements by collaborating across its wider business units.
He added, “It expands our physical commodities capabilities into animal-protein and pet-food ingredients.” Meanwhile, AMG owners Ted Skinner and Pete Schoonveld welcomed the acquisition and emphasized the growth opportunities StoneX can provide. They said, “StoneX gives our business the capital and infrastructure to grow in ways we couldn’t on our own.” Ultimately, the acquisition combines AMG’s specialized feed-ingredient expertise with StoneX’s broader financial, trading, and global infrastructure, positioning the combined operation to pursue further growth across North American feed and agricultural markets.
