IG Securities to End Introductory Trading Program, reflecting improved trading conditions and streamlined services for all Japanese clients.
IG Securities will end its Introductory Program amid recent operational changes. The decision follows improvements in the trading environment, particularly adjustments to product sizes implemented in May 2025. These adjustments have allowed IG Japan to enhance trading conditions for clients, creating what the broker describes as a more comfortable and efficient trading experience.
Consequently, the company has decided that the special introductory offer is no longer necessary. The Introductory Program had provided new clients with a significant incentive during their initial trading period. For two weeks after activating a trading account, customers could trade at 50% of the normal minimum, making it an attractive option for those starting out in the markets. This reduced threshold aimed to encourage early engagement and give new traders a smoother entry into live trading without committing to standard minimums right away.
However, as trading conditions have improved and market access has become more streamlined, IG Securities believes that the program has fulfilled its role. The company emphasized that the change aligns with its broader strategy to maintain high-quality trading services while adapting to evolving market needs.
Since the product size adjustment in May, client feedback has indicated that the updated environment offers better flexibility and trading comfort, reducing the necessity for temporary introductory incentives. Moreover, by ending the program, IG Securities can focus on refining its core offerings and ensuring that all clients, regardless of account age, benefit from the same optimized trading framework. The termination of the Introductory Program is scheduled for August 17, 2025.
Until that date, eligible clients who recently opened accounts can still take advantage of the reduced trading minimum during their qualifying period. After the program officially concludes, all trading accounts will operate under standard terms, reflecting the company’s confidence in the improved market conditions and product structure. IG Securities stated that while the program’s end marks the close of a chapter, it also represents a shift toward a more consistent and advanced trading experience for all customers in Japan.
