IG Securities, the Japanese subsidiary of electronic trading major IG Group, has announced the addition of stocks related to the FTSE Taiwan RIC Capped Index. This development comes as a replacement for the instruments linked to TAIEX, which did not continue by IG Japan in December 2023.
Starting from Tuesday, February 13, 2024, clients of IG Securities will have access to the new instruments associated with the FTSE Taiwan RIC Capped Index. This move reflects the company’s commitment to providing a diverse range of investment options and aligning its offerings with evolving market dynamics.
The FTSE Taiwan RIC Capped Index represents the performance of Taiwan’s large and mid-capitalization stocks. The securities within the index are weighted based on their free float-adjusted market capitalization and undergo semi-annual reviews. To ensure diversification and manage risk, quarterly caps are for individual constituents, limiting any single security allocation to 20% of the index’s weight. Moreover, the sum of weights for constituents representing over 4.5% of the index should not exceed 48% of the total index weight.
Derived from the FTSE Global Equity Index Series (GEIS), which covers an impressive 99% of the world’s investable market capitalization, the FTSE Taiwan RIC Capped Index provides investors with exposure to a broad spectrum of Taiwanese stocks while maintaining prudent risk management measures.
