Euroclear has entered a seven-year strategic partnership with Microsoft to enhance its clients’ experience and unlock new growth opportunities. The collaboration will harness Microsoft’s leading cloud technology, AI, and analytics expertise to drive transformation within Euroclear’s operations and broader financial ecosystem. 

With this partnership, Euroclear aims to accelerate its shift towards a more data-driven and digitally enabled financial market infrastructure, addressing the growing demand for innovation and efficiency in capital markets. By leveraging Microsoft’s robust technology stack—including Microsoft Azure, Copilot, Azure AI, and Microsoft Teams, Euroclear intends to create more value for financial market participants. 

The collaboration will focus on developing standardized and interoperable digital solutions, benefiting issuers, investors, and other industry players. This shift to more collaborative, data-centric practices will be central to Euroclear’s long-term strategic goals. 

Euroclear and Microsoft Announce Strategic Partnership for Innovation

Euroclear CEO Valérie Urbain emphasized the importance of technology in driving the company’s future growth. She noted that advancements in cloud computing and AI are key enablers for Euroclear’s transformation, and Microsoft’s expertise in both financial markets and technology made it an ideal partner. 

Urbain believes the partnership will accelerate Euroclear’s innovation and help bring them closer to their clients by leveraging cutting-edge tools. Microsoft’s Ralph Haupter also highlighted the partnership’s transformative potential, noting that it marks a shift from traditional, sequential workflows to a more ecosystem-centric model. 

Integrating AI and cloud technologies will enable financial institutions to work more efficiently, analyze data more effectively, and deliver valuable insights to end users. Moreover, as part of the initial collaboration, Euroclear and Microsoft will focus on building a secure financial data-sharing ecosystem and enhancing the Euroclear FundsPlace platform with AI-driven insights and streamlined operations. 

The partnership will also work on modernizing customer engagement and strengthening market infrastructure to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving financial landscape. Over time, the scope of their joint efforts will expand, fostering long-term industry innovation and resilience.
