eToro proudly announced its achievement of the SOC 2 Type II Compliance Certification. The certification, granted after a meticulous audit of its custody operations conducted by Grant Thornton, affirms eToro’s adherence to rigorous industry standards for data security, privacy, and confidentiality.
Developed by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), the SOC 2 Type II Compliance Certification is a crucial auditing procedure ensuring that service providers, particularly in technology and cloud computing, securely manage and safeguard client data.
Hedva Ber, eToro’s Deputy CEO, and COO emphasized the company’s dedication to protecting client funds and data. “Our clients entrust us with their money, and in return, we commit to having the very best systems and processes in place to safeguard both those funds and their data,” stated Ber.
The audit, covering August 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023, meticulously evaluated eToro’s controls and safeguards. Its successful completion underscores eToro’s implementation of robust measures to uphold high security, integrity, and confidentiality standards.
This milestone comes on the heels of Devexperts, a financial industry software and services provider, also announcing the successful completion of the Type 2 SOC 2 audit. eToro’s acquisition of the SOC 2 Type II Certification coincided with the rehiring of Naomi Rarmani as the Head of Compliance Operations. Rarmani brings extensive compliance and operational management experience from her tenure at Rapyd and Fundbox.
In tandem with this achievement, eToro has forged a partnership with 21Shares, the issuer of crypto exchange-traded products (ETPs), to introduce a new investment portfolio emphasizing a data-driven approach to crypto investing.
