Barry Flanigan joins iSAM Securities as Head of Asia Pacific, driving growth and enhancing leadership in the APAC region.
iSAM Securities has announced a strategic shift to enhance its Asian growth and presence, with Barry Flanigan moving from Head of e-Trading to Head of Asia Pacific in Hong Kong. This move highlights iSAM Securities’ commitment to strengthening its local market presence. Barry’s new role will drive further expansion and regional engagement in Asia.
Barry’s journey with the iSAM group began in 2009. During that time, he amassed four years of experience across various business units, including operations and trading, at iSAM, the Systematic Hedge Fund parent company of iSAM Securities. Recognizing the potential for success in the buy-side market, iSAM Securities launched in 2013 to replicate iSAM’s achievements.
Since the establishment of iSAM Securities, Barry has been instrumental in its development, holding several critical roles such as Head of Distribution and Liquidity and, more recently, Head of Electronic Trading. His strategic vision of applying institutional-grade products to support retail brokers has significantly propelled iSAM Securities to its current prominent position in the market, a testament to his leadership and the company’s competitive edge.
With 15 years of experience at iSAM, spanning roles in Cape Town and London, Barry’s relocation to Hong Kong marks a pivotal move in iSAM Securities’ strategy. This transition underscores the company’s commitment to accelerating growth and strengthening its leadership within the APAC region. The shift is expected to enhance regional operations, offering clients a more localized and responsive approach. By deepening its understanding of local market dynamics, iSAM Securities aims to deliver even greater value to its Asia Pacific clientele while maintaining the high standards of excellence and innovation that its global clients have expected.
Barry commented on his new role, “Our focus has always been on capitalizing on growth opportunities in Asia. With our strong resources and sophisticated client base, this move to lead in the Asia-Pacific region reflects our dedication to strong leadership in this increasingly vital market.”
